On-Mountain
NEW Restaurant – we are excited to announce the change over from Kelsey’s Bar & Grill to Montana’s Cookhouse! This should bring some exciting new variety for dining to the Kimberley Alpine Resort base area and also to Trickle Creek Lodge.
With the final stages of the Kimberley Conference & Athletic Training Centre (www.meetkimberley.ca) completed, this $6-million, 24,000 sq ft, fully accessible conference centre is the largest conference facility in Eastern British Columbia, between Kelowna and Banff, Kimberley is the only mountain resort community in the Columbia radius to have such a facility.
Enhancements to North America's Largest Gladed Ski Terrain continues, including the infamous Black Forest, can be noted as the largest glading project in Canada. Ultimately, this will make more skiable terrain accessible in Kimberley Alpine Resort's gladed areas, creating more skiing fun.
Recent upgrades have been made to Trickle Creek Lodge including: exterior painting, and all suites have new flat screen TVs and bed linens.

- The night skiing pass revealed its new name last season: the Nightrider Pass. Skiers & snowboarders can continue to enjoy unlimited fun on North America's longest night skiing trail (and for the same prices as last season). This pass was incredibly popular last year and in fact, inspired an evening rail jam series that many youth took part in. The night skiing opportunity at Kimberley Alpine Resort provides a positive environment for youth and family evening activity.

was the commencement of a 24,000 sq ft Conference & Athletic Training Centre being constructed directly at the
ski base. The centre is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2010 and will be open for operation when the ski
season commences at Kimberley Alpine Resort.

On-Mountain
- With the final stages of the Kimberley Conference & Athletic Training Centre (www.meetkimberley.ca)
being completed, this $6-million, 24,000 sq ft, fully accessible conference centre will be the largest conference
facility in Eastern British Columbia. It is located directly at the ski base, metres away from the North Star
Express chairlift at Kimberley Alpine Resort. The resort owner and operator, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies
(RCR), is a major contributor to the project alongside Columbia Basin Trust and the City of Kimberley with
additional support from both federal and provincial infrastructure grants. Designed to exceed BC energy
efficiency standards by more than 30%, and constructed entirely of local BC timber, this eco-friendly, multi-use
conference and meeting space will facilitate up to 500 people (theatre-style seating) or 350 people (banquet
style) and will be used as a year-round venue. The building will have 4 breakout meeting rooms, office space,
and the latest in information and communication technology capabilities.
The athlete training facilities will include:
· Accessible fitness centre
· Change rooms & wax room
· Large pre-function area
- Enhancements to North America's Largest Gladed Ski Terrain, including the famous Black Forest, can be noted
as the largest glading project in Canada. New glades have been created in the Black Forest between Windfall &
Tramway as well as between Twist and Geneva. Ultimately, this will make more skiable terrain accessible in
Kimberley Alpine Resort's gladed areas, creating more skiing fun.
- New easy-find trail signage has been placed around mountain
- A brand new skating rink complete with central gas fire-pit, atmospheric lighting, and benches can be found in
the courtyard, steps away from Montana’s Cookhouse in Trickle Creek Lodge and the North Star Express chairlift.
- The Daylodge and Slopeside café area has a new look with a subtle renovation that allows for better service
throughout the day.
- Upgrades have been made to Trickle Creek Lodge including: exterior painting, and all suites have new flat
screen TVs and bed linens.

In the Area
- A new flight schedule from Air Canada now makes it easier than ever to ski Kimberley Alpine Resort from
Australia. The adjusted schedule will now allow for a quick connection in Vancouver from Air Canada Flight
AC34 (SYD-YVR) to Air Canada Flight AC8213 (YVR-YXC) for easy access directly into the Canadian Rockies
International Airport in Cranbrook.
A Good Brush Cut is Great for Skiing!: Over ¼ million spent on run improvements with extensive brushcutting
and mowing on core runs this summer will result in making the trails even more skier and rider friendly
with smoother terrain and wider trail points and also creating the largest gladed skiing area in Canada!
No Fables of Great Skiing in the Black Forest Glades: The adventures in the Black Forest Glades are never
ending. This area is accessible off the Tamarack chair and offers fun and secret powder stashes for all levels of
skiers and riders to enjoy! New glade widening makes this area accessible even for the novice. Overall,
Kimberley Alpine Resort has the largest gladed terrain that offers continuous adventure for everyone!
Gear Up!: For those who think the gear makes the skier, Kimberley can now make you the best with the option
to take our new high performance HEAD ski rentals out for a spin. The resort proudly adds this new equipment
to the fleet, helping make a day on the mountain even better!
Season Pass with Extra Benefits: New to the resort facilities is the exclusive season pass lockers
conveniently located behind the Stemwinder Bar & Grill. Season Pass holders can now enjoy not only the
benefit of skiing every day but also getting out there faster with the quick and easy convenience of their own
locker room.
New Exciting Events: A jam packed schedule of events is planned for the season with returning favourites
such as the annual Family Festival (Feb 13-14) and Bavarian Iron Legs (Mar 27-28) as well as brand new
events including Beer Fest (Mar 13-14) and the Mountain Storm Mountaineering Race (Mar 6).
Follow the Lights of the Night!: If you haven't had your fill of skiing and riding while the sun is up, Kimberley is
home to one of North America's longest illuminated runs, making it a night-time hot spot. If the skis have been
hung for the night, however, enjoy a spin around the skating pond magically illuminated with bright lights or enjoy
a delicious s'mores by the bonfire while you watch the skaters waltz to the music.
Spaaaventure - New On-Mountain Development: With a reputation for attracting new development and
staying on the real-estate investment radar, Kimberley continues to build and sell. The highly anticipated
Mountain Spirit Resort & Spa, located directly at the resort base and next door to the Trickle Creek Lodge, is
now complete and selling luxurious but affordable units. Available for both vacation rental and home ownership,

North Star Racers Settle In: The North Star Racers Society known as the Kimberley North Star Racers have
settled into a new home base facility at Kimberley Alpine Resort. The new club house will help the racers
continue their efforts “to bring to the community fun, challenge, and opportunities for personal excellence through
participation and competition in alpine ski racing” through their fall and winter programs that are offered to
developing ski racers from ages 5 to 19 at the resort.
Paralympic Training Centre: In February 2009, Kimberley Alpine Resort proudly hosted the 2009 IPC Alpine
Skiing NorAm Cup with 52 paralympic athletes from 9 different countries competing. Starting from a dream to
create the best Race Training Centre possible for Paralympic Athletes, Kimberley Alpine Resort has a long
history of supporting Race Training that dates back to the 60’s and 70’s. With a dedicated training run, the
Dreadnaught, and plans to provide a complete state-of-the-art facility, Kimberley Alpine Resort in proud
partnership with the City of Kimberley and Province of British Columbia, holds strong and true to athletic
