Calgary, AB – December 13, 2006 – Kimberley Alpine Resort is scheduled to be wide open for its Saturday, December 16th opening day. With over 20cm of fresh snow in the past 48 hours, and over 6 feet of snow (190cm) to date, the resort is in great condition to start the season.
Opening day will also mark the annual Community Appreciation Day, which provides complimentary skiing to the residents of Kimberley, Cranbrook, Marysville and Wasa.
New for this year, Kimberley Alpine Resort is inviting local residents that are new to the sports of skiing and snowboarding to enjoy a complimentary “Discover” ski or snowboard lesson on December 16th as part of the Community Day festivities. Advanced registration is required. Participants should note that this lesson is for beginners only, and space will be limited. The Resort will also be hosting a charity BBQ on December 16th, with support from Cardinal Meats and Nathan’s World Famous Hot Dogs. Local guests can treat themselves to $2.00 RCR Prime Rib Burgers or a Nathan’s World Famous Hot Dog, with all proceeds going to the Kimberley North Star Racers and the Youth For Kimberley Society.
To secure a complimentary local’s lift pass on December 16th, please be prepared to present to Guest Services a driver’s license or pay stub and valid identification.
Kimberley Alpine Resort was recently named a Top 20 “Holiday Hot Spot” by Westworld Magazine, and the Trickle Creek Residence Inn by Marriott at Kimberley Alpine Resort was named one of Canada’s “10 Best Winter Resorts” by VIA Destinations Magazine.
