KIMBERLEY ALPINE RESORT DEDICATED TO MAKING UPCOMING SKI SEASON BEST EVER

Calgary, AB – November 16, 2005 – Opportunity knocks at Kimberley Alpine Resort! Ongoing investment is helping to increase the profile of the family-friendly resort and the City of Kimberley. With over $3 million invested in the last three years to improve the guest experience and the resort’s infrastructure, and over $65 million invested in new real estate opportunities throughout the resort area, Kimberley Alpine Resort and the City of Kimberley is enjoying a new level of growth that continues to provide positive benefits to the community and region.

Upgrades to the resort village creates easy access, convenient and quick service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. Over $1.5 million has been invested in expanding the base area: the Polaris Lodge has become the hub of ski activity, and the expanded Stemwinder’s Pub and Polaris Cafeteria provide more seating inside and out for guests and a healthy food offering. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, Kimberley Alpine Resort is ready to give its guests all the great amenities and conditions they deserve!

More and Better Snow: Every skier and rider loves great snow! New snow guns have been added for the 2005-2006 season and will offer more coverage to enhance the perfect corduroy conditions that Kimberley Alpine Resort is known for. In addition, with expansions to the resort’s snowmaking system, there will now be full snowmaking coverage from top to bottom of the North Star Express Quad, and The Main Run is now completely covered with man-made snow coverage.

Increased Efficiency and Environmental Awareness: New attachments have been added to existing snow guns, adding to Kimberley’s commitment to the environment. These impressive environmentally-friendly guns pump out more snow while using less water and electricity.

Greater Accessibility: The Cranbrook Airport has received millions of dollars in government funding to expand, making Kimberley Alpine Resort a more accessible destination for all.

Caring for the Community: Kimberley Alpine Resort is getting kids off the couch and on the slopes all winter long. First, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies and Husky have partnered up again this year to provide all Grade 2 kids in the province the opportunity to ski free at Kimberley Alpine Resort and other participating resorts for the entire season. The Grade 2 Funpass gives kids the chance to get outdoors and learn to ski or snowboard.

Second, the Community Schools Kids’ Ski Program will give local school kids the chance to learn to ski or snowboard. For $25 per child (regular price of up to $75), local schools can provide students with a full-day lift ticket to Kimberley Alpine Resort, full-day equipment and complimentary helmet rental, and a free 1 hour lesson.

Finally, Kimberley Alpine Resort will kick off the winter fun by opening on December 17th with Community Day. All residents of Kimberley and Cranbrook will ski free on December 17th (ID required), and proceeds from a $2 barbeque will go to support local charities and community programs.
